Hi. I’m James, a British citizen who, having been raised in the U.K., France and Spain - amongst locals and international people – has developed a passion for foreign languages. Moving to China in late 2005 with a Leeds University Masters in International Law plus Cambridge qualification in teaching English to speakers of other languages (“TESOL”), I then applied both skills to working for companies in Zhejiang, Anhui, Beijing, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, before returning to the U.K. to teach in Birmingham then Oxford/Royal spa towns. After completing a Masters in TESOL and returning to China’s most foreigner-contingent city – Shanghai - in its most authentic international training center, TCOS/CICP, I am now able to access my tastes (cycling, literature, jazz, singing, modern art, football and photography) while imparting my experience and knowledge to our go-abroad students in their Western culture and presentation skills courses.
你好！我叫詹姆斯，是个英国人，从小在英国、法国和西班牙长大，生活在来自不同国家的人们之间，使得我对外语产生了浓厚的兴趣。2005年下半年，我来到中国，凭着利兹大学法学硕士学位（国际法专业）以及剑桥大学颁发的TESOL（英语非母语教学）证书就职于浙江、安徽、北京、香港、深圳的一些公司。随后，我回到英国，在伯明翰、牛津以及皇家温泉小镇做教师。在完成TESOL硕士学位后，我又一次来到了中国，来到上海——一个外国人最多的中国城市，并任教于当地最正规的外语培训基地——上外出国留学人员培训部及海外合作学院。现在，我可以做自己想做的事情（骑车、看文学作品、听爵士乐、唱歌、看当代展览、踢足球以及摄影），并通过讲授西方文化和演讲课，给那些即将出国的学生们分享我的知识和经验。 |
